Subcontracts
Job Description & Requirements
Description - Jobs in this category, at various levels of responsibility
will range from subcontract administrator, working under the supervision of
a subcontract manager, through subcontract manager, which has direct responsibility
for managing subcontracts of varying sizes, through manager of a group of subcontract
administrators and managers. Activities include:
- Interacts with operations and project management to plan and ensure that
subcontracting activities are meeting project specifications and schedules.
- Preparation of reports regarding status of work by subcontractors.
- Preparation of necessary documentation to complete work.
- Writing of requests for proposals (RFP's).
- Ensuring that regulatory requirements (including the Federal Acquisition
Regulation audit requirements are being appropriately followed and enforced
in connection with subcontracted work.
- Maintain files, and documentation audit trails, and logs for assigned subcontracts.
- Communication with suppliers to ensure procedures and other requirements
are being followed.
- Some subcontracts are very large, i.e., over $20 million/year or more.
Education Required - BA, in business, contract administration or procurement
related field.
Required Relevant Experience - 5 years or more in contracting, subcontracting,
or procurement experience involving the contract cycle. Highly desirable is
work under US Federal government contract regulations, such as the FAR, DFAR.
Highly Desirable -
- Experience in subcontracting on projects in third-world countries.
- Military experience
- Experience managing large, very large, or sets of closely interrelated,
large subcontracts. If you have this kind of experience we are VERY interested
