Cost/Price Analysis
Job Description & Requirements
Description - Jobs in this category, at various levels of responsibility
involve experience with detailed analysis of subcontractor/supplier proposals
and financial information provided by the supplier to insure that the best possible
prices are paid for subcontracted materials and services. This information is
a key part of qualifying suppliers in many cases, and in negotiating and awarding
a wide range of subcontracts. Activities include:
- Working with suppliers and subcontract administrators/managers to obtain
financial data.
- Use of furnished data concerning proposed services or products in performing
detailed analyses of proposed pricing by subcontracts or other suppliers.
- Maintaining data files and databases where appropriate in efficiently and
effectively performing this task.
- Collaboration with others on the subcontracting and procurement teams in
completing effective, timely negotiations with suppliers.
- Providing support where needed for subcontract awards to insure cost-effective
awards.
- Providing reports and other communications as needed to various parties
within the organization, and where appropriate, to external agencies.
Education Required - BA, in business, contract administration, finance/accounting
or procurement related field.
Required Relevant Experience - 5 years or more experience in contracting,
subcontracting, with at least 2 years actual work experience in the cost/price
analysis area. Must have good knowledge of the FAR/DAR/DFAR requirements in
this area.
Highly Desirable -
- Experience in cost/price analysis of subcontracts on projects in third-world
countries.
- Military experience
- Experience managing large, very large, or sets of closely interrelated,
large subcontracts. If you have this kind of experience we are VERY interested
in speaking with you, as soon as possible.
