Compensation

Your compensation will be based on the total of the elements below.  The actual rates will vary with job classification and location.  An example below is supplied to help you estimate what your compensation will be.  In most circumstances the total is very attractive relative to employment in the US Also, bear in mind that while overseas, you will have minimal living expenses, since living quarters and food are provided by our client. If you are able to reduce or eliminate your expenses in the US, you will essentially save a large portion of your earnings while overseas. 

• Base Salary:  $ per month.
  You will be paid a Base Monthly Salary for a minimum 40-hour workweek.
  Example: $4,000 per month Base Salary            Annual Total Base Salary: $48,000

• Overtime:  $ per month.
  You will be paid for all hours worked. The pay for hours over 40 hours per week will be at the straight time rate. It is not unusual for employees to work 80 or more hours per week but there is no guarantee of overtime.
  Straight Time Rate per Hour = (Base Salary/Month x 12 months)/2080 hours
  Example: Straight Time Rate = ($5000/mo. x 12 months)/2080 hours = $23.07/hr
                Overtime Pay for 40 hours/week of overtime = 40 x $23.07 = $922.80/week Overtime Pay
                Total Overtime Pay for 52 Weeks = $47,986
• Uplifts:  In addition, there are several types of uplifts to Base Salary which can total 25-55% of Base Salary
  Foreign Service Bonus  An incentive to accept and remain in a foreign assignment (5%)
  Work Area Differential  A bonus recognizing work area hardship and weather extremes (25%)
  Hazard Pay  A bonus for locations with possibly dangerous conditions (25%)
  Note:   These uplifts apply to Base Salary only
  Example: $4,000 per month Base Salary x 50% Uplift = $2200/month    Annual Uplift Total = $26,400

Total Annual Compensation: $48,000 Base Salary + $47,896 Overtime + $26,400 Uplifts = $122,296 Per Year in the example. In addition, there are several other financial advantages.

• No Living Costs:  Your housing, food, and transportation, including airfare to and from your assignment location is provided by the company.

• Paid Leave:  Every 120 days (4 months) you will take a Rest & Relaxation leave that is 10 days in length. This includes one week at regular pay with the remaining days unpaid.

• Tax Free Income:  Up to $80,000 of Foreign Earned Income may be tax free if you reside outside the US for 330 or more days of the Jan. 1-Dec. 31 tax year. This benefit depends, of course on you remaining outside of the US for the required period, and on your tax bracket. For illustration purposes, here is an example - Federal Tax 28% + State Tax 5% = 33% x 80k = $26,400 tax savings in addition to the $122,296 above, for a net, total of $148,696 gross earnings and tax benefits - all on a base pay of $48,000.
